A unique architectural style seen all around Budapest is known as Hungarian Art Nouveau (Hungarian Secession), which is a special local variation of the international Secession style reaching Hungary at the turn of the century. Some architects used traditional Hungarian folk motives mixed with other Secessionist and oriental decorative elements in city buildings, thus creating an architectural style that is modern and uniquely Hungarian at the same time.
